Introduction
Many people argue Austro-Hungarians were the primary start of World War One, and label them as aggressors. Others label them as victims because they feel The Austro-Hungarians initiating war against Serbia was appropriate. In my eyes, The Austro-Hungarians were victims, not aggressors in World War One. They only declared war on the Serbians because of the Serbian terrorist group, “The Black Hand” assassinated the Austro-Hungarians archduke, Franz Ferdinand and his wife Sophie (“Biography”). Which was legitimate reason to attack. The Austro-Hungarians also didn't try and start war with any other country before this instance, and were actually doing well in their empire. They built their very own national bank, had an enormous spike in growth of manufacturing as well as industrial manufacturing. Lastly, they had an improvement in agriculture by having one of the highest growth annual rates in Europe (Llewellyn).War was far from the minds of the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Rather, their main focus was to improve the empire and make it more successful. The aggressors in this war is The Serbians Despite the fact being The Austro-Hungarians were the ones who declared war towards them.
